Pilot Travel Centers LLC receives Customer Service Outlook Award

Convenience Store Petroleum (CSP) Magazine has named Pilot Travel Centers its national "Excellence In Customer Service" Outlook Award recipient for 2004. CSP selected Pilot after reviewing mystery shopper results gathered by Ritter & Associates Inc. over the past year. Numerous customer service experiences were compared, and Pilot’s locations were chosen over locations from 10 other industry leading chains. Among the locations mystery shopped were Pilot Travel Centers in Bloomington, IL, Battle Creek, MI, Haubstadt, IN, and Simpsonville, KY.

As a part of the recognition, CSP has featured Pilot in an article in the December issue of CSP Magazine and in Outlook 2004, the premier edition of CSPDigital, a new digital magazine. The award comes on the heels of a recent customer service reformation Pilot initiated over the past 18 months to extend customer service commitment. The new reformation centers on a system-wide "customer first" mentality by ramping up three key employee-focused initiatives: overhauling employee training, intensifying the existing mystery-shopper program, and improving the customer service team and related technology at Pilot headquarters.

The award was presented in Scottsdale, AZ at the annual Outlook Conference put on by CSP in partnership with the Leadership Network Corp. The Outlook Conference is the premier top-to-top industry conference which brings together 350 leading retailers and suppliers for four days of relationship building and discovery. Convenience store operators and supplier sponsors share new ideas and solutions to industry issues while participating in activities that promote networking and relationship building.
