Pilot and TripPak EXPRESS Reconcile
Mutual Fleet Clients and Drivers Respond to Support TripPak in Pilot Locations

(NASHVILLE, Tennessee, July 2, 2002) – Pilot Travel Centers and Truckload Management, Inc. (“TMI”) the parent company of TripPak EXPRESS and TripPak ONLINE document management services have reached an agreement which resolves issues between the two companies.  Response from drivers and fleets was immediate, overwhelming and clearly the industry wants to see TripPak and Pilot continue a long-standing relationship.

“We now have a placement agreement with TripPak to address our business issues and TripPak has the guarantee that Pilot will not negatively impact their cost structure,” said Mark Hazelwood, Executive Vice President of Pilot Travel Centers.  “Both companies are working with customers to make sure that there is no interruption in service or any misunderstanding.”

“Pilot acted quickly to confirm with each Travel Center manager that no further action was necessary and all our drop boxes are in place,” explained Mark A. Cleveland, Executive Vice President of TMI.  “TripPak EXPRESS shipments from all Pilot locations were accounted for today and only three sites were inactive for twenty four hours.  We now have a multi year placement agreement and Pilot will respect the original TripPak arrangement to help us keep carrier costs down.”  

TripPak and Pilot have agreed to research other initiatives that would expand coverage and add value to mutual customers.  Drivers stopping at Pilots will see the yellow drop box at Pilot locations as long as mutual customers want them there.   For eleven years, TripPak has provided low cost, express mail service to help fleets and drivers succeed, and Pilot Travel Centers was one of the first travel centers to offer this service.
